I am trying to think of some really good gifts to give my girlfriend for Christmas. She says that she doesn’t want anything (like I do lol) so she won’t give me any ideas. Although, she is a big Tokio Hotel fan, and since they have a new album out I was thinking about getting it for her.
Jewelry is great, we all love it, but it is so generic. The key to getting a good gift for a female is showing you put the effort in. For me, if I know you shopped all day for me, looking for just the right gift, I do not even care what the gift is because I know you cared enough to try really hard to make me happy, an that is gift enough.
When it comes time for gift giving, you should listen extra carefully. Is there a purse she really wants but doesn’t want to spend the money on? Has she mentioned a book to you that she wants to read? Does she complain about carrying stress in her neck/back (buy a massage)? You want it to be personal, and the best way to do that is to listen to little things she mentions that she likes or wants.
Depending on your financial situation and other commitments, it could be really romantic to whisk her away for the weekend. You could go to a spa for a couple days, or a bed and breakfast, or the beach (if there is one near by), or a fun city within a short driving distance. Have it all planned out. The more you plan ahead, the more time we know you spent and the more romantic it makes you seem.
Whatever you do, do NOT (unless she is really into it):
Buy a vaccuum
Buy her a gift certificate to have her car detailed
Buy her a gym membership, treadmill, eliptical machine, or anything else that she could interpret as you callig her fat.
Take her to the monster truck rally or a wrestling event

I have decided that I will buy a frame and make a collage for her. The pictures will consist of pictures of her and I together, some by myself, and some with her by herself.
The iPod is a good idea too – maybe you could load some songs on it that remind you of her.
